Lobster, champagne and a Michelin star for £49
Fitzrovia's starriest early sitting, gone on 31 August
Fitzrovia's Michelin-starred French dining room has a summer trick up its sleeve, and it runs only until the end of August. The early evening menu at 64 Goodge Street is three courses and a glass of champagne for £49: jambon persillé with sauce gribiche, the restaurant's famous lobster vol-au-vent, and a crème brûlée with myrtille berries to finish. The glass of Philipponnat arrives before the food does.
For a sense of the value, three courses at dinner here normally run to £95. The catch is the clock: the menu is served for reservations between 5.30pm and 6.15pm, Monday to Saturday, and the dishes are fixed, no substitutions. Newly on All Set, so you can browse both menus and book direct in the app.

Beyond the lobster season there is a quieter reason to know this room: the set lunch. Three courses for £59, Monday to Saturday from midday, chosen from an à la carte that is written fresh each day, which on a recent visit ran from trout amandine with sorrel and grapes to duck with cherries and sauce au poivre. The lobster vol-au-vent stays on the lunch menu too, for a £12 supplement. Both menus are on All Set now, bookable direct.
The £49 early evening menu takes its last bookings on 31 August. The £59 set lunch, though, is on All Set all year round.
