About Morchella

Lunch is ordered once, for everyone at the table. Focaccia and spanakopita arrive first alongside Flourish Farm cherry tomatoes and straciatella, then a day boat fish stew and a salad to share between you. The set changes regularly: the tomatoes have already given way to white peach and Greek salad, the stew to pork belly ragù.

Morchella occupies a former bank just off Exmouth Market, where Ben Marks and Matthew Emmerson of Perilla cook a modern reading of Mediterranean classics. A counter looks into the kitchen, there is a terrace, and the wine bar holds an old world list and keeps its seats for walk-ins. A glass of Domaine Seailles sauvignon or of a Veneto merlot is poured alongside the lunch for £7.50.
