Through August, the King's Road and Knightsbridge are throwing a party. The Plated Festival runs from the 1st to the 31st, a whole month of special dishes, exclusive offers and a bit of a fuss made over some of the best kitchens in west London. We love an excuse to book a table, and this is a very good one.
The festival is the fun bit, but here is the thing we keep coming back to: every one of these five serves a set menu we rate any day of the year, festival or not. So we have pulled together the offer that is on this August alongside the year-round set menu you can book on All Set whenever the mood takes you. Two courses from £24, up to a two-star lunch that is worth every penny.
01 · Rabbit
Chelsea, King's Road
Farm-to-fork on the King's Road, two courses £24 or three £28.
The Gladwin brothers' wild, warm little bistro on the King's Road is one of Chelsea's most likeable rooms, and its farm-to-fork cooking leans on the family's own Sussex farm and vineyard. For the festival they are running The Summer Deal at £25: beef tartare or half a lobster with fries and a glass of Sussex Reserve, on weekdays. Any other week of the year, the set lunch is two courses for £24 or three for £28, and it is every bit as good.
02 · SETTE
Knightsbridge, at Bvlgari
Contemporary Italian at the Bvlgari, two courses £36 or three £42.
SETTE brings a little Riviera glamour to the Bvlgari Hotel, all warm woods and a circular bar you will want to linger at. Its festival dish is a one-off: a lobster and seafood risotto finished with Amalfi lemon, created just for Plated. When the festival is over, the reason to keep it saved is the weekday set lunch, two courses for £36 or three for £42, Monday to Friday. A proper Knightsbridge treat that does not need an occasion.
03 · CLAP
Knightsbridge
Tokyo-style robata and sushi, set lunch two courses £29 or three £34.
CLAP does modern Tokyo dining with real theatre: robata smoke, a sake list to get lost in and a room that hums. For the festival there is a Signature Sushi Platter to share, rolls, sashimi and nigiri, at £60 a head. Away from the festival, the set lunch is the smart move, two courses for £29 or three for £34, Tuesday to Friday. One of the more exciting ways to spend a lunch hour in SW1.
04 · San Carlo Knightsbridge
Knightsbridge
Glamorous Italian just off Brompton Road, Menu di Pranzo £26.95 or £31.95.
San Carlo has been feeding Knightsbridge beautifully for years, a buzzy, glossy Italian a step off Brompton Road. Through August, the festival extra is a complimentary drink with the set menu, Monday to Thursday between midday and 7pm. Any time of year, the Menu di Pranzo is a lovely thing, two courses for £26.95 or three for £31.95, taking in burrata, branzino and a proper tiramisu. Exactly the sort of easy, generous lunch San Carlo does so well.
05 · Dinner by Heston
Knightsbridge, two Michelin stars
Two-star historic British cooking, the Luncheon Menu at three courses £75.
Heston Blumenthal's two-star dining room at the Mandarin Oriental turns dusty British recipes into something quietly astonishing, from the famous Meat Fruit to Tipsy Cake spit-roasting by the pass. For the festival there is 15% off food and a welcome spritz on arrival, Monday to Thursday. The set-menu gem, on All Set all year, is the Luncheon Menu at three courses for £75. As two-star lunches go, it remains one of London's genuine steals.
The Plated Festival runs 1 to 31 August 2026 across the King's Road and Knightsbridge. Every venue here is bookable on All Set, festival or not, all year round.
