Dinner in Soho usually means the early evening
Evening set menus in Soho usually belong to the hour or two before the curtain. Kitchens open a window between lunch and the shows. The fixed price tends to sit at a 5pm or 6pm table.
Under the restored 1930s interiors of the old Regent Palace Hotel, Brasserie Zédel serves its set menu at lunch and dinner. It runs seven days a week. Sucre brings its menu back from 9pm to 11pm, Monday to Saturday.
Earlier in the evening, The Palomar and Blanchette Soho both serve from 5pm to 6pm. Bill's Soho runs its pre-theatre menu from 4pm to close every day, late enough to count as dinner. The guide to pre-theatre set menus in London covers the rest of the West End.
Lunch is where the kitchens show their range
At midday the choice widens. Chotto Matte serves an express lunch and a tasting menu from the same kitchen, both from 12pm to 5pm. Bocca di Lupo rewrites its menu every month. This autumn it is cooking from its own new pasta book.
Weekends are covered too. Brasserie Zédel and Prix Fixe Brasserie serve every day, Manzi's from Tuesday to Sunday and Mele e Pere on Sundays. Browse every set menu in Soho, read what a set menu is, or start from every set menu guide for the rest of London.
