What is a group set menu?

A group set menu is a fixed-price menu a restaurant writes for a party of a stated size, priced per head and booked as one table. It usually runs to three courses with a short choice at each, and the whole table orders from it, so the courses arrive together and the bill is known before anyone sits down. All Set lists 8 London restaurants with one, from £42 to £100 a head, each with its party size, dates and menu taken from the restaurant's own published menu. Prices on this page were last checked on 6 October 2026.

Group set menus for Christmas 2026

The festive group menus run from early November to Christmas Eve, for the office party, the team lunch and the long December dinner.

Firmdale Hotels runs a festive group set menu in five of its London restaurants, each booked online for the whole party. Oscar, in the Charlotte Street Hotel in Fitzrovia, opens its season on 2 November with two menus at £65 and £75 for tables of 7 to 16. Both begin with appetisers for the table, and the £75 menu goes on to halibut with mussels and a caviar butter sauce, or an Aubrey Allen fillet steak with hasselback potatoes and peppercorn sauce. Refuel at The Soho Hotel seats parties of up to 20 across two tables, at £65 or £75, with Irish beef cheek suet pudding in bone marrow gravy, sides for the table and a Refuel chocolate orange to finish. Brasserie Max at the Covent Garden Hotel serves £65 and £75 menus for 7 to 14, from a roast cauliflower velouté with winter black truffle to miso glazed cod with hispi cabbage. Ham Yard in Soho has one menu at £60 for 7 to 10, with red deer venison loin, roast quince and bitter chocolate among the mains, and tea, coffee and mince pies at the end. Brumus at the Haymarket Hotel is written for 11 to 20 at £75, with a celeriac and spinach Pithivier, Highland venison and a selection of artisanal cheese. Brasserie Max, Refuel, Ham Yard and Brumus serve from 23 November to 24 December, every day. Oscar, Brasserie Max and Refuel ask parties of 11 or more to pre-order three days ahead, and Brumus asks every party to.

Coq d'Argent, on the roof of No. 1 Poultry above Bank, serves its festive menu to parties of 8 or more from 17 November: £65 on Mondays and at weekends, £90 from Tuesday to Friday, the same three courses at both prices. Haunch of wild roe deer with parsnip purée and red cabbage, Christmas turkey with black truffle and pigs in blankets, and Burgundian snails in garlic and parsley butter are on it, and a glass of Laurent-Perrier to open is £16 a head. Groups of up to 12 book online, and larger parties go through the events team.

El Pirata, a Spanish tapas restaurant on Down Street in Mayfair since 1994, takes groups from six: a Festive Lunch at £42 and a Festive Dinner at £49, Monday to Saturday from 16 November to 23 December. The Christmas set menu guide holds every festive menu in London, tables of two included.

How many people do you need for a group set menu?

Most London group set menus start at six to eight guests and run to around twenty. On All Set the smallest group menu starts at 6 guests and the largest takes 24, with the bigger parties often seated across two tables set side by side. The party size is printed on every restaurant card and restaurant page, so a booking for twelve goes to a menu written for twelve.

How much does group dining cost in London on a set menu?

Group set menus on All Set run from £42 to £100 a head for two or three courses. Service is added at most London restaurants as a discretionary charge, and El Pirata and the Firmdale restaurants print theirs at 13.5% on the menu. Drinks are priced separately unless the menu includes them, and a welcome glass is a common addition: Laurent-Perrier at Coq d'Argent is £16 a head.

How do you book a set menu for a group?

Book through the restaurant's own booking page, which every listing on All Set links to. Most take a group of the menu's stated size online and pass larger parties to their events team. Many hold a group table against a card, and many ask for the table's choices a few days before, so the kitchen can have every course ready together. Tell the restaurant the occasion when you book. All Set links straight to each restaurant and takes no commission on the booking.

What is the difference between a group set menu and private dining?

A group set menu is served in the main restaurant, at a table laid for the party, and priced per head with no hire fee. Private dining takes a separate space for the party alone, usually against a minimum spend or a hire fee, and is arranged with the restaurant's events team. All Set lists group set menus, priced per head and booked direct; private hire packages are arranged with each restaurant.

How were these group set menus chosen?

Every menu on this page is priced per head, sold to a party of a stated size and bookable through the restaurant's own system, and each one is verified against the restaurant's published menu and re-checked on a rolling basis. Menus arranged by enquiry with no published price are not listed. The catalogue was last checked on 6 October 2026. All Set links to each restaurant's own booking page and takes no commission, so nothing here is paid placement.
