About Paro Indian

Modern Indian cooking inside the Lyceum Theatre building on Wellington Street, where a house blend of 48 spices runs through West Bengal home cooking and the Anglo-Indian curries. The pre-theatre menu opens on bang bang chicken with mint and plum sauce, lamb samosa in homemade filo, or breaded potato chops, then builds a main from seven bases, korma through to jalfrezi, with lamb, chicken, vegetable or prawn. Paro butter chicken and rogan lamb come across from the carte, cooked in the handi, and mango kulfi, pistachio kulfi or gulab jamun finish. Rice or naan is included. Green velvet banquettes, painted tigers and low neon set the tone, with the Lyceum in the same building and the Novello across the street.
